Utah's Bargain Bites

We decided to do this restaurant review a little bit different than the past reviews. Rather than choosing sound bites for each individual restaurant we did a poppy package off the top that showcased all the different restaurants quickly. I called each of the owner's to get permission to film here and compiled the restaurant article for the website. I also created the CGs/ Font Fulls that we show later on in the segment with all of the restaurants contact information.

New Restaurants in Utah

Anytime we shoot video at a place like this we have to call and get permission to do so. I spoke with all the owners of these new restaurants to get permission to film. I went out with the photographer to film and conducted some of the interviews for this piece. I really enjoyed going out with the photographer and talking to people. It was neat to get out and see all these new places that Ted had chosen for this month's restaurant review. After logging all of the tape, I chose which SOTs/ sound bites to use for the package. I created the CGs/ Font Fulls with all of the contact information of each restaurant available to the viewers. I wrote the website article and compiled all the information so people can directly link themselves to the restaurant's website.

Mama's at a Glance: November

While Stephanie Peterson is in charge of Utah Mama's, I helped to put this piece together. Stephanie sent over a list of ideas for the month of November and I helped the viewers to visually see those activities on camera. I chose the dates of when to feature each activity and found NAT to use for each activity we chose to elaborate on. I also chose which items we would actually have in our Studio and ways in which we could display live on camera. I compiled the website article and helped to script a little bit of the piece.

Best Pizza in Utah

Chic Steals, Consignment Stores

While this segment wasn't mine, I helped a lot to make it come together. I did all the research on the price comparisons for each of the individual outfits. I researched the brand and compared the price of the consignment idea to the price of something like it in the stores. I dressed the mannequins for this piece and took pictures. I edited the pictures so that we could include them on our website and make the available along with the article.

Find a Halloween Storytime Close to Home

This host chat was about Halloween Story times that were taking place here in Utah. For this segment, I researched where some exciting story times were going on how parents can get their children involved. I found some great places and picked the ones that would be the best to show visually. I found all the NAT for this piece and our editor put it together. I also got a copy of one of the books so that we could film a special NAT for that specific story time. I created all the CGs/Font Fulls with all the contact information for each story timelisted. I scripted the segment and also compiled the article and wrote the tease for the website. While this piece was short, it took time to research the different places and get in contact with some of these places.

Fun Activities To Do With Your Partner

I was in charge of this host chat. For this segment, I researched unique, fun activities for couples to do with each other, here locally. I found some great ideas and narrowed it down to a few that we could easily elaborate on. I found all the NAT for this piece and our editor put it together. I created all the CGs/Font Fulls with all the contact information listed. I scripted the segment and also wrote the article and tease for the website. While the piece was only about three minutes long, lots of research and time went into making it, just like every other segment I worked on.
